Client Feature: Easy Automated Sales

Posted 25 Sep

Easy Automated Sales in a Brisbane based software business providing a "virtual front office" for small businesses.  What does that mean you ask?  Well we sat down with owner, Colin Ferguson, to learn all about this product and how it can help small businesses in Brisbane.

Tell us more about how Easy Automated Sales is a Virtual Front Office solution for small business

Most small business owners are technicians first – they’re good at their trade or profession but not so good at business systems and marketing.  They know they need to build systems and embrace technology but don’t know where to start.

We solve that problem.

For example, most small businesses miss phone calls.  And that amounts to missed business.   Our Missed Call Text Back (MCTB) feature stops this leak.   It automatically sends a text to the customer saying “Hi, sorry I missed your call, how can I help?”; keeping the lead engaged in the initial query and ideally stopping them from reaching for the next number to call.

Want to test it out?  Call 0483 905 608, hang up after two or three rings, and watch the magic unfold!

Here's another example: We all know we should be asking customers for Google Reviews – but we don’t.

Our system automates this by sending an SMS message thanking the customer for their business and asking for them to say a few nice words in a Google Review and giving them easy access to the link.

When you have a steady flow of current 5-Star reviews, you position your business to get free leads from Google.   How many customers did you see last week?  What if just half of them gave you a nice review?  What would that amount to over a month?

The system has a centralized Inbox, so all your inbound traffic comes to one spot. It funnels all your digital traffic—emails, SMS, Web Forms, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram comments—into one spot. It’s a lot easier to manage and prevents things from slipping through the cracks.

There’s also an integrated calendar system and a bunch of other “customer relationship” tools that all synch with each other.

The system runs on a desktop, and there’s an App for your phone - so you and your team can easily stay on top of things wherever you are.    The system promises a 15% boost in 60 days and a 30% (plus) boost over a full year, all without increasing your advertising spend.

This definitely sounds like a solution that could help many small businesses, how would our clients get started?

Starting a small business can be challenging in today's market.  What is one thing you feel was a challenge for you and how did you overcome it?

Small business today is tough! I’ve had a bunch of different businesses over the years.  There have been some good wins, and I’ve fallen out of the sky a couple of times, too.

This current market is probably the toughest I’ve seen – interest rates are up, inflation is a problem, logistic supplies suck, and finding good people is hard. I’ve been lucky here.

Most of us “fall into” a business.  We start as technicians (with a trade or profession), and somehow, we morph into a business. My case is different.

I’m supposed to be retired. And we travel a lot!  So, running the business from a laptop anywhere in the world is important.

To that end, I created the business “from a blank canvas.”  I deliberately avoided a model with

  • Physical products,
  • Fixed overheads, and
  • A reliance on people

I see these as big challenges for most small businesses.  They’re not insurmountable – they just make the business more complex and challenging. So, I avoided them.  For me, minimizing  exposure here is a good thing.

A major milestone for me was reading Michael Gerber’s book “The E-myth.”  It’s about “working on your business, not in your business.” And he spells out the importance of creating systems.

Since then, I’ve been passionate about businesses built on systems.  Today, we can bake “smart technology” into our systems – and the resulting productivity gains are incredible.

Here’s the key: If you build systems that work – you don’t have to.

I believe small businesses are the lifeblood of Australia. And right now, it’s tough for many of them.  We need to make the right tools available to them.

That’s why I’m on a mission: to help 500 small local businesses harness “smart system automation.” It will help them get more leads, get more customers, and enjoy more profits – without adding complexity and stress.

That's fantastic Colin and a very inspirational and insightful story. Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us.
